My Thoughts
I give the Deadpool 2 Blu-ray a B+.
First off, I’m probably the only person in the world that is going to say this but, I liked this film better than Avengers: Infinity War and I did enjoy the first film (Deadpool) a lot more then it’s Super Duper counterpart.
Deadpool 2 (Super Duper Cut) still has the same witty superhero we came to love and opens up with Deadpool (played by Ryan Renolds) laying on top of barrels full of fuel smoking a cigarette. He then flicks a cigarette and blows himself to pieces. Later in the film, we find out why he did so. The lost of his love, Vanessa (played by Morena Baccarin) who is shot during an altercation. Colossus saves him per say and the rest is history not to mention that DP has this supervillain from the future after him, Cable (played by Josh Brolin) because he chooses to save this boy who had killed Cable’s family (wife & Daughter) in the future.
There are many things I liked about this film. The opening credits are hilarious. Instead of the normal way we see credits, this film adds a little twist to it. It grabs your attention where most opening credits disappear like smoke through a keyhole. I think the story of Wade and Vanessa had a stronger connection in the first film. With this one, that fire/Chemistry was missing between the two. Even when Vanessa was shot, it still seemed as something was missing between them. The action sequences were entertaining and hilarious. It was definitely an enjoyable ride. I actually like Steppenwolf (Justice League) better than Thanos. But, I will take seeing a person playing a supervillain over a CGI-ed being any day. With that said, I really liked Cable (played by Josh Brolin). He had a combination of badassery and a soft side. He wasn’t evil as most villains are. But wanted revenge (who can blame him).
Catch Deadpool 2 (Super Duper Cut) on Blu-ray & Digital Now!
