DC STUDIOS: ‘SUPERMAN – LEGACY’ GETS A NAME CHANGE & A NEW SYMBOL

DC STUDIOS:   Principal photography begins today, February 29th, on James Gunn’s new Superman movie. And coincidentally, February 29th is Clark Kent’s birthday.

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE NEW NAME?

“When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the film Superman: Legacy,” wrote Gunn. “By the time I locked the final draft, it was clear the title was “SUPERMAN”.  Making our way to you July 2025. Happy Birthday, Clark!”

So “Legacy” has been dropped, and the movie is just  “SUPERMAN”…

Gunn also shared an image that gave fans their first look at the Superman suit and its iconic “S” logo. In the image, Superman’s chest can be seen covered in snow.

The titular role in Superman is being played byDavid Corenswet (Pearl, The Politician), while Lois Lane will be played by The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan. They’re joined by Nicholas Hoult, Skyler Gisondo, María Gabriela De Faría, Sara Sampaio, Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, and more. The film is set to release on July 11, 2025.
