DC STUDIOS: JAMES GUNN’S BABY IS ONE YEAR OLD TODAY!

DC STUDIOS: THE FIRST YEAR…by James Gunn.

“One year ago today Peter Safran & I introduced our DC slate for the 1st time – thanks to all of you for the support you’ve given us throughout the year,” James Gunn said in a post shared across his social media channels. “Today, Superman Legacy is about to start production, episodes of Creature Commandos are being finished that will release later this year, at least 2 more projects are gearing up to go in the next couple months, amazing scripts keep coming in, & incredible talent are being attached to new projects, planned & unplanned. Thank you!!”

And while that sounds nice! Let’s not forget about the DC financial failures this past year:  Shazam – Fury of the Gods, The Flash, Blue Beetle, and Aquaman – The lost Kingdom..

BUT to be fair, those films were made before Gunn’s new regime took over.  So he had nothing to do with the quality of those films.

That being said, it was James Gunn’s new plan to reboot everything that left those films out in the cold, feeling pointless. And Peter Safran was at DC, and produced “Shazam – Fury of the Gods”,  the worst of the lot. Making the 1st anniversary of DC Studios bittersweet at best.
