Based on the light novel from 2011 the DATE A LIVE series has seen a steady stream of popularity with multiple adaptions from anime to games. The most recent installment of the series, DATE A LIVE: Rio Incarnation is scheduled to release in Japan on June 18th which begs the question “when will we see it come to the west?”.
Luckily fans won’t have to wait long after as the game will be hitting shelves this July.
DATE A LIVE: Rio Incarnation will be released on July 23rd in America and July 26th in Europe. This version of the game will include the two previous installments Rinne Utopia and Arusu Install. It is important to note that the Playstation version will come with 2 modified scenes likely in order to comply with Sony’s new censorship restrictions.
For those of you that are slightly outraged by this decision you will be happy to know that the Steam version of Rio Incarnation will not be altered.
A synopsis of the game from the press release reads:
A brand new character named Rio appears, who calls Shido “Papa” and is searching for the “most important thing.”
After having escaped nearly being trapped in a virtual reality, Shido is afflicted by a strange feeling. A disturbance in
the world in which he lives. Someone is out there… He cannot shake the helpless, uncomfortable feeling. This
strange feeling persists… A new paradise. A girl who has the same last name as Rinne – Rio Sonogami. The girl,
along with Marina… for the sake of everyone’s happiness, they wander in search of “the most important thing.”
