AVATAR LAND is coming to Disney California Adventure. Based on James Cameron’s “Avatar” series of films. The Walt Disney Co. confirmed the plans Saturday night at its D23 fan convention in Anaheim.
Concept art shown by Disney revealed a water-focused attraction that Walt Disney Imagineering, the division of the company responsible for theme park design, promised would be “dynamic, intense and an emotional experience on a grand scale.” And totally different from the Avatar-themed land, and ride, in Florida.

ADDITIONAL NOTES…
STAR WARS….
– Alongside the theatrical release of The Mandalorian & Grogu in 2026, in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride will be getting a brand-new story featuring MANDO & GROGU
– AVENGERS CAMPUS
TWO NEW RIDES ARE COMING! The story behind the 1st attraction is that Tony Stark has developed new portal technology that can take riders to different worlds.
But that’s also attracted the attention of King Thanos, a version of the Mad Titan who won the Infinity War in an alternate reality. Since Avengers Campus is set in alternate MCU where Thanos never snapped half the universe out of existence, the heroes don’t know what to expect from him. Unfortunately for them, King Thanos is coming to rectify that.
The ride, AVENGERS:INFINITY DEFENSE, will bring riders along as the MCU heroes fend off King Thanos’ assaults on Asgard, Wakanda, and other familiar Marvel locations before the final showdown with the Mad Titan.
But that’s not the only Marvel theme park news out of D23. An Iron Man-themed ride, STARK FLIGHT LAB, will be the 2nd new attraction at Avengers Campus. It’s a robot-arm ride that lets guests simulate flight like Iron Man himself. And none other than Robert Downey Jr. will be reprising his role as Tony Stark for the attraction. Remember, Avengers Campus is from an MCU timeline where Stark never died, so there’s no resurrection needed here.
-WALT DISNEY
And last, but not least, a New Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic Show is Coming to the Disneyland opera house for the park’s 70th anniversary. (2025)
