Stephen King’s IT was a massive success raking in $123 million on opening weekend. So naturally, it’s time to start thing about IT: CHAPTER TWO.
The film tells the story of “The Losers Club” as kids and the sequel since it takes place 27 years later, will bring the group together as adults to once again battle the evil entity known as “Pennywise The Dancing Clown.” One of the difficult tasks for this sequel is the recasting of the kids, who left a great impression on the viewers.
During an interview with Variety, director Andy Muschietti was asked if Jessica Chastain would be considered to play the future Beverly.
“Jessi is an amazing actress and very good friend and I would love her to play Beverly. She loves the movie and it feels like the planets are aligned in that sense, but we still have to make that happen. There are a lot of ideas for the rest of the cast that I’m playing with, but it’s a bit too premature to say those names right now.”
Originally, I was expecting Amy Adams for the role since Sophia Lillis resembles her much more. Plus, the film kind of hints at Adams by calling Beverly “Lois Lane” at one point. The bottom line is that both actresses are solid and Chastain and Muschietti have worked together on Mama.
