ACTION SUPERSTAR AMY JOHNSTON BREAKS INTO HER NEXT ROLE AS A HIGH-TECH THIEF IN RAZOR SHARP
Grand Champion martial artist Amy Johnston is no stranger to assaulting people’s senses with her ability. After taking Hollywood by storm as Scarlett Johansson’s stunt double in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, the blonde stunner has taken center stage as one of the film industry’s fastest rising stars. Having just wrapped the lead role in Voltage Pictures’ LADY BLOODFIGHT, Johnston has her sights set on bringing fan-favorite short film and comic book miniseries, RAZOR SHARP, to the big screen.
A festival darling, the film tells the story of quirky thief Veronica Sharpe as she struggles to right her own wrongs in a Cyberpunk world ruled by corporations. “She’s such a fun and relatable character,” says Johnston. “It’s rare you find a role with this much strength and humor. Plus, she kicks butt.” The film’s writer/director Marcus Perry, who is also VP of Worldwide Creative Content at Paramount Pictures, echoed that sentiment. “Amy’s a real life super hero.
