Last week, we told you Captain America: Civil War would start filming in less than two weeks. That means the production is trying to get all of its extras squared away, and a recent casting call has gone out looking for specific types.

Most notable among the casting notice from Tammy Smith Casting is that the production is looking for African men and women. Specifically, they’re looking to cast ages 18 to 75 that have a “casual look or Ethnic Wardrobe (is a plus, but not mandatory).” Actors cast for these roles will be filming in mid May.

It’s not a big surprise that the film is looking to cast African actors since Civil War will introduce Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), a.k.a. African prince T’Challa, who rules the advanced nation of Wakanda. Presumably, the African actors cast as extras will be Wakandan subjects, and Wakanda is specifically going to be in the film since the casting notice specified Africans rather than African-Americans.

The casting notice is also looking for “Upscale Men and Women”, “Military Men”, “Southeast Asian Men and Women”, and “College Students”. These various extras will be need at various times from April through July.

Captain America: Civil War opens on May 6, 2016.

Here’s an early synopsis for the film:

“Following the events of Age of Ultron, the collective governments of the world pass an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity. This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle between former allies.”
