Bring Her Back Blu-ray Review: A Scary Childhood

I missed Bring Her Back in theaters and I’m glad no one spoiled it. Catching up on Blu-ray, there are some horrific images I’ve never seen before.

The premise is sound, no one is going to believe these kids that their foster mother is evil. The specifics of her plan are incidents to that universal helplessness of children.

I bet some of the creepy images look great in 4K but I wasn’t able to see that version. The sound is most effective. A lot of the horror involves biting and the sound design really captures different textures.

20 minutes of behind the scenes interviews introduce the young cast, showcases the makeup and on set visual effects and highlights the atmosphere the Philippou Brothers created. Their commentary takes us through the production of each scene and addresses specific standout moments. A single deleted scene comes from the drunk montage.
