Academy Award nominated actor/comedian Bill Murray is picky when it comes to his choice of scripts. His performances are few and far between and he definitely delivers when it comes to his roles. Recently sent a reworked “Ghostbusters 3” screenplay from writers/actors/comedians Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, Murray sent a box to his former co-stars containing the revised script. Unfortunately, it was shredded into confetti, and accompanied with this nasty note:
“No one wants to pay money to see fat, old men chasing ghosts!”
Murray does have script approval for the third Ghostbusters installment. However, after this latest incident, insiders say Aykroyd and Ramis have decided to go ahead with the project without Murray.
Also, it is still unclear whether Ivan Reitman will return to the director’s chair.
The story is reportedly about the Ghostbusters handing over the reins to the next generation. At the moment, it does not smell like team spirit.
“Ghostbusters 3” is still in limbo. Barring any changes, the film will star Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Eliza Dushku, David Margulies, Bill Murray (?), Sigourney Weaver (rumored,) Annie Potts (rumored,) Anna Faris (rumored,) and Alyssa Milano (rumored.) Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Lee Eisenberg, and Gene Stupnitsky wrote the screenplay. Ivan Reitman (?) directs.
