In a bit shocking news, Variety has revealed that Ben Schwartz will be the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog in the upcoming film from Paramount Pictures.
While we originally thought that Roger Craig Smith would be voicing the iconic character (voicing Sonic since 2010’s Sonic Colors), it will be interesting to see how Ben Schwartz will do. Best known for his role as Jean-Ralphio Saperstein in Parks and Recreation, Ben Schwartz is also currently the voice of Dewey Duck in Disney Channel’s recent Duck Tales reboot and will also be the voice of Leonardo in Nickelodeon’s upcoming Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Set to release on Nov. 15, 2019, Sonic the Hedgehog will be a blend live-action and CG elements and set to star James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, and Jim Carrey as Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik.
