As expected from the tease on Twitter, Battelfield V is going to be set in World War II. As explained in today’s reveal hosted by Trevor Noah, the developers at DICE said they wanted to focus on the more unseen locations of World War II, like Norway, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, etc.. The campaign will be told through War Stories, following different characters in different parts of the world, similar to Battlefield 1. Cooperative Combined Arms will also allow teams of up to four to take on dynamic challenges.
What’s most exciting about Battlefield V is that the Premium Pass will be non-existent. All maps will be free, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be lootboxes. We’ll find out how well this works out when the game launches on October 19 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
