In Ballerina, Ana de Armas acquitted herself nicely to learning 87eleven fight choreography. She found herself in new situations taking on a vast array of colorful killers. Until there’s a John Wick 5, this is likely the most extensive action we’re going to see in a mainstream movie.
Ballerina maintains the franchise look with lots of fluorescents in the city. The snowy mountain town creates a crisp new look. The flamethrower finale is set against the deep black night and underground which 4K UHD portrays exquisitely.
Surroundsound sends bullets and glass flying around the room of course, but has some unique elements too. Crossbow bolts come from the rear, pursuers in other rooms are heard faintly from behind, and those flamethrowers.
Three behind the scenes features equal 28 minutes total. They interviewed Lance Reddick on the set.
The 30 minutes of deleted scenes include extended fight sequences. There’s more in the club, the grenade fight, the diner and the flamethrower battle. There’s also one more John Wick scene, though his reintroduction stepping off the train is better.
FROM THE WORLD OF JOHN WICK: BALLERINA is now available on Digital, 4K UHD and Blu-ray™!
