When Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that it would be releasing Taiko no Tatsujin: Nintendo Switch Version! in Japan, it was one game I knew I had to have even if the only way to play it was for me to import it.
A rhythm game where the objective is to hit a drum to match the beat of the music, Taiko no Tatsujin is a game that I’ve played quite a bit in arcades for the last decade and own on the PlayStation 2. Even if the game might not see a release in the West, it will receive an English release in Asia which is great since the Nintendo Switch is region free.
Kirby and Inkling Squid will be selectable characters in the game, each with their own abilities and players will be able to select from more than 70 songs which include: Aloha from Pokemon Sun & Moon, Cha-La Head-Cha-La from Dragon Ball Z, Cruel Angel’s Thesis from Neon Genesis Evangelion and Jump Up, Super Star! ~Short Version~ from Super Mario Odyssey.
I’ll be keeping an eye out over on Play-Asia so I can pre-order the game once it goes live.
Taiko no Tatsujin: Nintendo Switch Version! will release on August 9th.
