My Thoughts
I give Ash Vs Evil Dead: The Complete Third Season a B.
I absolutely love this TV Series and hated to see it go (Who doesn’t like blood and gore, right?). I wasn’t a fan of The Evil Dead franchise until I actually watch this series. As I have said countless times before, I couldn’t see how comedy and horror could go together. In my mind, I was thinking it was going to be super cheesy but, once I gave it a chance, I realized it meshed really well.
I felt this season was weaker than the other two (but still enjoyed every minute of it!). Don’t get me wrong, I liked the relationship with Ash and his newly found Daughter. The Deadites were gruesome and bloody as always. Pablo and Kelly couldn’t be more bad-ass as well as Ruby being evil and calculating. It ended in somewhat of a cliffhanger that left you wondering what was next for Ash. I think it fell short because it relied too much on the blood and gore. I love blood and gore but there needs to be a great relationship between that and the storyline and characters. This season had a strong character relationship even with the new characters that were introduced this season. It is always entertaining to see Ash, Kelly, and Pablo face off with Ruby and her minions.
If you are a fan and didn’t have a subscription to STARZ, you’ll definitely need to check this out. Ash will definitely be missed and it’s not going to be the same not seeing him battle Deadites every week with his fearless compadres.
