A few days ago, Apple had several announcements during a special event that showcased several new products. One of them is the Apple Arcade, introduced as the world’s first gaming subscription for mobile, desktop and living room. Upon release, the Apple Arcade will provide users access with over 100 exclusive games. Apple’s idea behind Apple Arcade is providing a bigger audience for developers to reach as many users possible. Given the market is largely dominated by free games, paid games usually don’t reach a huge audience. Games in the Apple Arcade will be accessible to all users without any additional fees. On top of that, there will be no ads or additional purchases within the game.
There are many highlights with the Apple Arcade, one of them being able to play offline. You can also jump between devices, such as your iPhone to your Mac, or even your Apple TV. Some games will have controller support, giving you a near console experience. Apple is also teaming up with plenty of developers such as Annapurna Interactive, Bossa Studios, Cartoon Network, Finji, Giant Squid, Klei Entertainment, Konami, LEGO, Mistwalker Corporation, SEGA, Snowman, ustwo games and more.
Apple Arcade will arrive this fall, no word yet on pricing but we’ll provide more details as they come.
