Schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, July 4 – 6:00pm – LOVELIVE! SUNSHINE!! Aqours World Love Live! in LA ~Beyond the Pacific~
Aqours (full-length concert event) – Aqours is a 9-member female anime idol group in Love Live! Sunshine!! After last year’s popularity at the Japan Kawaii Live, they return this year with a full-length concert.
Friday, July 6 – 7:00pm – Japan Super Live
Aimer – Shooting to mainstream popularity amongst anime fans upon the release of Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works with the theme song Brave Shine, she has continued working with many other series, drawing in fans with her unique and powerful vocals.
Yuki Kajiura – Having composed music for a multitude of smash hit anime, including .hack//Sign, My-HiME, Pandora Hearts, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero, Sword Art Online, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles, Erased, Aldnoah.Zero, and so many more, Yuki Kajiura is one of the most famous composers in the anime world. The one consistent impression I have listening to her music: Wow, that was epic.
May’n – An eclectic artist, she is perhaps most well-known for providing the singing voice for Sheryl Nome from Macross Frontier. Most recently, you may have heard her voice in collaboration with the idol unit Wake Up, Girls! for the Restaurant to Another World opening song, One in a Billion.
Sanketsu-girl Sayuri – Inspired by idol group Kanjani Eight’s band, Sayuri creates, writes, and sings her own music, calling herself a “2.5-dimensional parallel singer-songwriter.” Notably, her first album Mikazuki no Koukai reached #1 on the Oricon Daily charts, and most recently, she provided the ending for Fate/Extra Last Encore with the song Tsuki to Hanataba.
Saturday, July 7 – 5:30pm – Japan Kawaii Live
AKB48 Team 8 – Arguably one of the most renowned idol groups in the world, AKB48 returns to Anime Expo after almost a decade. This particular subteam’s concept is “Idols who go meet you.” Very fitting for an overseas international concert. Each of the members come from a different prefecture of Japan, reinforcing the concept.
THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS – Originally a game centering on a producer (you) training prospective idols for stardom, the series has since received a manga and anime release and the idol group has definitely gained many fans.
i☆Ris – A female idol and voice acting group composed of Saki Yamakita, Yuu Serizawa, Himika Akaneya, Yuuki Wakai, Miyu Kubota, and Azuki Shibuya, these girls also double as the voices for the main characters of PriPara.
Shoko Nakagawa – Shokotan is a fellow anime fan, and shot to fame back in 2008 with her song Sorairo Days for Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Since then, she has continued to voice act and provide music for various series, and is also a TV personality.
