As a fan of the show myself, it’s a shame we left our beloved friends scattered and dealing with their own drama. Never to find out if Rand will become the Dragon and destroy the world or unite it… THANKS PRIME VIDEO!
The fantasy series, based on the book series of the same name by Robert Jordan, followed Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of an incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, who embarks on a global journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity. Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski ) realizes in Season 2 that he is the subject of the prophesy, and in Season 3, competing forces pull him towards both good and evil as Moiraine and Egwene al’Vere (Madeleine Madden) work to keep him on the right path.
Per Deadline, Prime Video has decided to end the show following the The Wheel of Time Season 3 finale. “As is often the case in the current economic environment, the reasons were financial as the series is liked creatively by the streamer’s executives…”
“The Wheel Of Time got off to a strong start in 2021 as Prime Video’s most-watched series premiere of the year and one of the platform’s Top 5 series launches of all time. Then three seasons in, the series has remained a solid performer but its viewership has slipped, with the fantasy drama dropping out of Nielsen’s Top 10 Originals chart after the first three weeks of Season 3 while staying on the list for the entire runs the previous two seasons.”
So viewer-loyalty be damned… Those who watched the series are just left hanging.
