One year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers.
Exploring an abandoned visitor center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and horrifically murdered one by one…only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same evening.
But in this twisted take on ‘Groundhog Day’. They are Trapped in the valley, and they’re forced to relive the nightmare of their own deaths again and again – only each time the killer threat is different, each more terrifying than the last.
Hope dwindling, the group soon realizes they have a limited number of deaths left, and the only way to escape is to survive until dawn.
I got a chance to meet the young cast at WonderCon. And they were all very enthusiastic about the complex characters they embodied in the film. And the creative way the film gives you the feel of the PlayStation game, which can be played over and over again.
The Director, David, Sandberg, and the writer, Gary Dauberman, developed the time loop structure. Where every night, after the friends are killed, the story resets. Taking you into a new horror genre; body horror, a slasher film, etc. Which expands beyond the game. Giving everyone, gamer or not, an unpredictable thrill ride.
