Deadpool & Wolverine 4K UHD Review: Levy & Reynolds’ Surprising Reveals

Where has the summer gone? Deadpool & Wolverine is already on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD. The digital 4K obviously holds up with the rest of the Marvel movies, but the bonus features provide some further appreciation.

All the bonus features emphasis the practical locations, props and oner takes. This is significant because especially in a superhero movie, we assume it’s all digital. There’s obviously plenty of digital work in Deadpool & Wolverine but the practical elements are appreciated, including props in the desert void and an actual shadow created by the sun, not in post production.

Director Shawn Levy’s commentary with Ryan Reynolds gets even more specific about the practical elements. They also point out Easter eggs you may have missed, including a Les Miz one. The movie is so packed with references, just getting a chance to notice them all is worthwhile. Reynolds also reveals which running gogs were inspired by his kids. They also discuss releasing the photo of Hugh Jackman in the yellow costume to beat a paparazzi to exposing them.

There are only three short deleted scenes. More short promotional bits let Reynolds and Jackman be funny. It’s the highlight of the practical work that stands out in this edition of Deadpool & Wolverine.
