Wicked For Good 4K Review: 4K Good

Just before New Year, Wicked For Good came out on digital 4K. Physical copies street Jan. 20 but you know we couldn’t wait for this one.

4K shows off the bright, vibrant colors from the yellow bricks to all of Glinda’s pink accouterments. The depth of shadow shows when Elphaba finds the animal cages under the Wizard’s chambers, Morrible consuring the storm and the silhouetted finale of the Dorothy scenes.

You hear Elphaba flying behind you before you see her. Music fills the speakers and all the stormy effects surround yoyu.

A 50-minute behind the scenes feature and four more 6-minute featurettes compare finished scenes from the film to behind-the-scenes footage. You get to see the elements come together, and everyone gets emotional.

Deleted scenes include several additional musical stanzas. Making yellow bricks proves more complicated than just painting them yellow.

Jon M. Chu gives another full commentary like he did for the first film. He talks fast so he can fit everything in on a scene by scene and overall basis.
