The Bad Guys 2 is a fun new adventure with the reformed criminals. It spends a lot of time re-explaining who they were, what they’ve become and introducing new characters, but once that is done it gets to a good place.
Computer animation always looks good in 4k but Bad Guys 2 really comes to life in anime and storybook frames. That goes for the Little Lies and Alibis short too.
Soundwise there’s a lot of rumble in the action, car chases and rocket launch. You’ll hear the Lucha atmosphere and prison buzzer behind you.
A deleted action scene is shown in previs animation which is still pretty developed. Another deleted scene is only storyboard and gives some emotional backstory to the governor.
Behind the scenes features engage kids with play acting as a sketch artist. Yet the filmmakers and cast give real interviews. Marc Maron mentions qualifying for health insurance… for the kids!
