Actor Joseph Hyungmin Son who played Dr. Evil’s Korean henchman, Random Task, in 1997’s “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery” has allegedly killed a sex offender in prison. According to prison reports Son, 40, is suspected of killing his 50-year-old cellmate, who was found dead Monday afternoon at Wasco State Prison Reception Center in Kern County (California.) A cause of death is pending.
Prison officials have named Son as the suspect, but are not charging him until the investigation has been completed. Son was recently sentenced to life in prison for his role in the brutal gang rape and torture of a woman on Christmas Eve in 1990.
Aside from co-starring in the Mike Meyers film, Son was briefly a mixed martial arts fighter. His prison sentence allows him to be eligible for parole.
