YOSHIKI returns with exciting new announcements for both his own music and X Japan. On Monday evening May 16, YOSHIKI held a press conference to reveal his new upcoming “Yoshiki Classical with Orchestra 2023” tour Requiem, both to commemorate the 10th anniversary of his Yoshiki Classical album and in honor of his mother’s memory. This October tour will hit up Tokyo (Garden Theater), London (Royal Albert Hall), Los Angeles (Dolby Theatre), and New York (Carnegie Hall), allowing YOSHIKI to become the first Japanese artist to headline these historic venues. Tickets are on sale now.
In addition, YOSHIKI announced the release of a new single, also by the title of “Requiem,” this July 21. This somber piece blends classical with the new, giving an elegant, yet fragile feeling. He followed with the thrilling news that X Japan would also have its first new single in eight years this coming July 28. “Angel” is a delicate, yet powerful piece with a beautiful melody and uplifting, inspirational lyrics.
After the press conference that night, YOSHIKI held a small, intimate live event, Conservation with YOSHIKI, for his fans. After revealing the exciting news, he took questions from the audience, followed by a live concert! Bringing in the Orchid Quartet to play string accompaniment and two amazing soloists–Beverly and Ashley Knight–for vocals, YOSHIKI performed teasers from both his upcoming releases and more recent hits, before closing out with a soft, yet powerful rendition of the iconic “Endless Rain.”
