Script for sale!  Script for sale!  These are words being touted on-line for one of the hottest properties in showbiz.  Samuel L. Jackson (Col. Nick Fury) has lost his personal copy of “The Avengers” script.  Marvel Studios and Disney are not too happy about the story potentially leaking out to the general public. The website, Obsessed with Film, was contacted over the weekend with the offer to buy the “missing screenplay.”  Dated 4-8-11, the script, shooting under the pseudo-title “Group Hug,” is watermarked with Jackson’s name and Marvel’s seal of approval.  It appears this is a genuine draft.  Some pages have been released on the web to prove their authenticity.  The anonymous source is asking a hefty price for the purchase of the document, but dealing in stolen or “lost” property is highly illegal.  Perhaps Jackson should have kept a closer eye on his copy.  In any case, what would you be willing to pay for it?

“The Avengers” (Group Hug) stars:

Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark (Iron Man)
Don Cheadle as Colonel James Rhodes (Possibly as War Machine)
Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner (The Hulk)
Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton (Hawkeye)
Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff (The Black Widow)
Chris Evans as Steve Rogers (Captain America)
Chris Hemsworth as Thor
Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury
Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill
Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson
Kevin Pennington as Agent Wendell Vaughn
Tom Hiddleston as Loki
Lou Ferrigno as The Incredible Hulk (voice)
Robin Atkin Downes as Baron Helmut Zemo (voice) (rumored)

“The Avengers” is currently in production and is scheduled for a May 4th, 2012 release.  Zak Pen wrote the script, while Samuel L. Jackson lost it.  Joss Whedon directs this super hero epic.
