WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, has passed away Thursday morning at the age of 69.
TMZ reports that emergency crews responded to a call at 5:56 Wednesday morning after they received a call of an older male taking a fall. Dusty, whose real name is Virgil Runnels, was taking to the hospital where he was surrounded by immediate family. There, he suffered “numerous complications” throughout the night and passed away Thursday morning.
Dusty Rhodes was a three-time NWA champ, and wrestled in just about every major wrestling promotion. He was known for his unique wrestling style and his charisma both in and out of the ring.
Dusty had four sons, two of which are very well known in the WWE Universe as Goldust and Cody Rhodes aka Stardust. Dusty Rhodes appeared here and there in the WWE, most recently in a storyline between his two sons.
The WWE and former WWE wrestlers, have sent there condolences on WWE.com and through social media.
