Violent Night 4K UHD Review: Santa 4Klaus

When Violent Night came home earlier this year it was Blu-ray or DVD This Christmas, Universal gifted fans the 4K UHD.

This release captures the crisp winter air with Christmas lights at night. Explosions light up the night sky. The lavish manor gets destroyed in action and the visuals hold up in the dark attic.

Since it all takes place on Christmas Eve, all the exteriors capture the contrast between the snow on the ground and the dark sky. You can also see the detail in David Harbour’s Santa suit. You can count each individual hair of white fur if you’re so inclined.

The action sounds are actually rather subtle in the surround mix. You’ll hear a bowling ball roll in the distance during the Home Alone attic scene. Gunshots and explosions only flare up in the final face off between Santa and Scrooge (John Leguizamo).

The Blu-ray extras from earlier this year are still included too.
