Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 (theatrical release June 19, 2026) delivers a heartfelt story centered on how technology shapes children’s lives and imaginations. Voiced by an all-star cast including Tom Hanks (Woody), Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear), Joan Cusack (Jessie), Greta Lee (Lilypad), Conan O’Brien, and returning favorites like Tony Hale, Kristen Schaal, Wallace Shawn, and more, the film shines especially when Jessie takes center stage. She confronts the lingering emotions tied to her past with Emily, adding genuine depth to her character.
The central theme feels surprisingly relevant without ever becoming preachy. Pixar masterfully balances the message with sharp humor, exciting adventure, and plenty of charming character moments that longtime fans will cherish. The animation is absolutely stunning, packed with vibrant visuals, richly detailed environments, and the kind of technical excellence that continues to set Pixar apart.
While some viewers might argue the franchise could have wrapped up with Toy Story 3 or 4, this sequel more than justifies its existence with a meaningful narrative and real emotional heart. The pacing does slow a bit in the first act, but the powerful payoff in the final act makes the entire journey worthwhile.
Overall, Toy Story 5 is a touching, funny, and visually spectacular addition to the beloved series. It skillfully blends nostalgia with timely modern themes, offering something special for both longtime fans and a whole new generation of viewers. Highly recommended—grab the tissues and the popcorn!
