Earth Day is a day for action. Your chance to show how important the environment is to you. In support of the much-anticiapted release of the new mystery adventure, TOMORROWLAND, Disney encourages you to take part in the action and help out Mother Nature and make it a brighter tomorrow. TOMORROWLAND follows the life of a jaded scientist (George Clooney) and an optimistic teen (Britt Robertson) that embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as “Tomorrowland.” What they must do there changes the world—and them—forever.
This Wednesday, April 22nd marks the 45th anniversary of Earth Day and people all over the world will be volunteering and educating others for the cause. Below you will find some easy ways you can celebrate the Earth and create your brighter future.
Make sure to catch TOMORROWLAND in theaters nationwide May 22nd!
Plant a garden or a tree.
Plants produce oxygen, reduce carbon dioxide in the air and help promote a healthy lifestyle.
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.
Reduce waste by reusing and recycling!
Swap out your light bulbs.
Swap out your regular old power eating bulbs with compact florescent light (CFLs) bulbs, which use less energy and provide the same amount of light and last up to ten times longer. They also save money in energy costs!
Carry your own water bottle.
Reduce the waste left behind plastic water bottles by carrying your own stainless steel and polycarbonate drinking bottles.
Switch one household appliance to an energy efficient model by looking for the “Energy star” label. Also, don’t turn on lights as long as you can — open your curtains and enjoy natural light.
Drive the speed limit and combine your weekly errands to one trip. If you can, bike or walk to your errands that are close by.
Be laundry conscious.
Wash laundry in cold water instead of hot and line dry.
Stop using disposable bags.
Invest in reusable bags and make sure to take them around town with you when running errands.
