THQ Nordic acquires Deep Silver, Bringing Saints Row Back Home

THQ Nordic officially announced today that it has acquired Koch Media. Koch Media being the owner/parent company of Deep Silver. This deal cost THQ Nordic $149 Million. This means that THQ Nordic now own Homefront, Dead Island, Metro, Saints Row, and much more…

TLDR: THQ Nordic now owns the series that they sold, when forced to file bankruptcy back in 2012.

When THQ Nordic Filed for bankruptcy it 2012, Koch Media/ Deep Silver purchased Saints row (arguably the most renowned IP of this whole story). Then one by one Koch Media acquired all the aforementioned IPs. Until finally Nordic Games acquired the THQ trademark, renaming the company as THQ Nordic. Koch Media is not disbanded however, they will continue to operate under the direction on THQ Nordic. THQ Nordic wanted to emphasis that they will not applying any layoffs, or downsizing. It appears that the merger will be helpful to all involved. Just goes to show how insane changes can be at times, within the gaming industry.
