A gorgeous new key visual has also been released for the film:
Fondly referred to as ‘DanMachi’ by fans, the original series is set in a unique world similar to that of a multi-player RPG game where adventurers visit “Dungeons” to battle monsters and collect treasures to trade and craft other items. These adventurers can join together to form groups known as “Familia,” and each Familia carries the name of and serves a resident deity. The story follows 15 year old Bell Cranel as he works to make a living as the only member of the Familia Hestia. Along the way, he manages to obliviously “pick up” affections from various girls—including deities—as he gains allies and experiences through his journeys.
Fujino Omori penned the light novel back in 2013, and the series was quickly picked up for a TV animated adaptation released in 2015. Since then, it has resulted in various spin-offs and comics (Sword Oratoria, Familia Chronicle), and games (DanMachi: MEMORIAFREESE).
