The Raid: Redemption 4K UHD Review: Silat In Your Face

The new 4K UHD edition of The Raid: Redemption brings the bone crunching action to new life. It’s not a glamorous movie, all set in a dilapidated building, but it boasts deep shadows within the halls and rooms. One exception is a Rastafarian tenant who keeps his room colorful and neon lit.

You see the grain in the film. That must be from film prints, because it was shot on digital but still released on film in 2011. Some of it looks like pixels though, so it could be a combination effect.

The surround sound is as evocative as the silat fighting. Ticking taps your ears from behind immediately. Punches and gunshots echo. The rain and truck driving envelops you. Even distinct dialogue yelled from floor to floor comes from specific speakers.

The Blu-ray included comes with all the bonus features previously released .
