THE DISASTER ARTIST Blu-ray Review

The Disaster Artist Blu-ray

The Movie

Synopsis

With The Disaster Artist, James Franco transforms the tragicomic true-story of aspiring filmmaker and infamous Hollywood outsider Tommy Wiseau—an artist whose passion was as sincere as his methods were questionable—into a celebration of friendship, artistic expression, and dreams pursued against insurmountable odds. Based on Greg Sestero best-selling tell-all about the making of Tommy’s cult-classic disasterpiece The Room (“The Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made”), The Disaster Artist is a hilarious and welcome reminder that there is more than one way to become a legend—and no limit to what you can achieve when you have absolutely no idea what you’re doing

My Thoughts

I give The Disaster Artist Blu-ray a B.

This film is based on the guy (Tommy Wiseau) who created the film, The Room.  You actually don’t need to see that film to understand this film.  In fact, at the end of this film, they showed a few side by side scenes of The Room and The Disaster Artist.  The scenes were exactly the same.  Even the actors looked very similar.

I actually really enjoyed this film.  I liked how real-life brothers Dave Franco and James Franco star in this.  In fact, James Franco directs it!  Its a great story about friendship, never giving up on your dreams, and just make a movie yourself if no one believes in you.  It’s weird how we still don’t know much about Tommy Wiseau. Where he’s from, how old he is, or even where he got the money to make his film. Though, The Room is considered one of the worst movies in history it has gained cult status.

Catch The Disaster Artist out on Blu-ray, DVD, & Digital March 13th.
