Harrison Ford will officially reprise his role as Rick Deckard in the sequel to Blade Runner. In addition to that, director Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners) is in negotiations to direct the sequel. The film is scheduled to start principle photography in the summer of 2016.
Co-writer on the original Blade Runner, Hampton Fancher and Michael Green have written the original screenplay, based on an idea by Fancher and Ridley Scott. The story is said to take place several decades after the conclusion of the 1982 original. That would of course make sense considering Ford’s age. The actor will reprise his role as Han Solo, later this year in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
