Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. series is amazing because it features such a deep roster of characters from gaming history. We’ve seen Sega’s mascot character Sonic first join the battle in Super Smash Bros. Brawl along with Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid, Cloud from Final Fantasy VII and the list can keep going on and on.

Now we can add a few new fighters to the list as Richter Belmont, Chrom and Dark Samus will be joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as Echo Fighters.

Back in June, Masahiro Sakurai revealed Echo Fighters which are in a sense skin swaps of certain fighters with certain changes. Richter for example is Simon Belmont’s Echo Fighter and has a different look, voice and animation but has the same move set.

Chrom was one character Fire Emblem fans wanted to see in the last Super Smash Bros. release but instead appeared as part of Robin’s Final Smash. Chrom will be an Echo Fighter of Roy.

And finally we have Dark Samus who made her first appearance in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. She will be an Echo Fighter or Samus.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be released on the Nintendo Switch on December 7, 2018.
