Studio Ghibli films are masterpieces, they are the Japanese equivalent of the best Disney films. Each film masterfully crafted to tell a unique and interesting story that can reach a large scope of fans with it’s limitless charm and beauty. Hit after hit, movie after movie each movie stands the test of time in one way or another. Hayao Miyazaki has done a fantastic job at preserving the brand that is Ghibli and making it a worldwide icon not just to anime fans but to art in general. The time has finally come where Studio Ghibli takes a much larger step towards its legacy, a theme park for the biggest Ghibli fans.
In 2022, fans will be able to travel to Japan(specifically Aichi Prefecture located in central Japan) to check out a theme park that will be dedicated to some of your favorite Studio Ghibli films. A translated report reveals that the park will feature locations from some of the more popular films such as Howl’s Moving Castle, Whisper of The Heart, Kiki’s Delivery Service, among others. The Aichi Prefecture was the location of the 2005 World Fair and is roughly 500 acres in size which is around 3 times the size of Disneyland and California Adventure combined! It’s not crazy to guess that there will also be exclusive merchandise and other exclusive goodies that will bring in guests, both domestic and foreign. The news also comes with a slough of concept art of the park.
