“Everyone Fights! No one quits!” is the famous motto ejaculated by Johnny Rico to his Roughnecks in “Starship Troopers.”  Now this famous film saying applies to the new “Starship Troopers: Invasion” film hitting stores at the end of August.  This new chapter to the bugs vs. humans war promises to be a battle royal with the fate of Earth hanging in the balance.

Check out the trailer:

Here is the synopsis for the feature:

A distant federation outpost Fort Casey comes under attack by bugs.  The team on the fast attack ship Alesia is assigned to help evacuate the Starship John A. Warden along with the survivors and bring military intelligence safely back to Earth. Before the attack ship can rendezvous with the starship, former intelligence colonel Carl Jenkins, now at the ministry of Paranormal Warfare, takes the starship on a clandestine mission and goes missing in the nebula. The battle-hardened troopers are then charged with a rescue mission that may have much more sinister consequences than they ever could have imagined.

Series star Casper Van Dien returns as executive producer alongside Ed Neumeier, who is the screenwriter of the original film. The film is penned by Flint Dille (co-writer “Diablo III” video game,) and produced by Joseph Chou (“Halo Legends.”) Shinji Aramaki, the director of Halo Legends, Appleseed, and Appleseed Ex-Machina, helms “Starship Troopers: Invasion.”

Additionally, IGN will host a special fan signing with Casper Van Dien, Ed Neumeier, and Shinji Aramaki at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 14, at 1:00 p.m. at the IGN Oasis. And everyone who attends the signing will get a free pass to the World Premiere screening of the film later that night!

Sony Pictures Entertainment is debuting “Starship Troopers: Invasion” on August 28th, which will be released on Blu-ray and DVD with UltraViolet.

The discs will feature filmmaker commentary, deleted scenes and an 11-part Making Of featurette that reveals how the film was created via a mix of animation, motion capture, and compositing. The Blu-ray also features an exclusive conceptual art gallery, showcasing the original designs of the movie’s ships, alien bugs, and more.
