Caliburn24 here with events surrounding the last George Lucas directed Star Wars films.
They offered us Jar Jar Binks, Anakin Skywalker, whom Patton Oswalt using Lucas’ voice sums up in TPM, “He’s just like this little kid, he’s taken away from his mom, and he’s very sad”, but we did get the righteous 501st which does honorable duty in costume working at hospitals and charities.
32 BBY – King Veruna abdicates his throne and Amidala is elected Queen. Veruna later dies and his death is covered up. This happens in the novel, Cloak of Deception, by James Luceno.
This is shortly before the events of Episode I – The Jar Jar Menace.
Nute Gunray is placed on four trials for the invasion of Naboo, but maintains his role as viceroy of the Trade Federation. Jedi Master Dooku takes over the cloning program of Sifo-Dyas and kills him. He becomes Darth Sidious’ apprentice and is named Darth Tyranus. Dooku erases Kamino from the Jedi Archives and leaves the Jedi order to return to Serenno. Jango Fett steals Slave I during a jailbreak from the prison world of Oovo IV along with bounty hunter Zam Wessel, then destroys the other prototype Firespray ships. This happens in the Slave I – Bounty Hunter game. Dooku recruits Jango Fett in a test on one of Bogden’s moons. “I was recruited by a man called Tyranus on one of the moons of Bogden.” – Jango Fett, played by Tamuera Morrison, tells this to Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan.
These are events after TPM which was called Three Proton Mon Calamari.
27 BBY – Watto sells Shmi Skywalker to moisture farmer Cliegg Lars who later frees her. “Shmi’s not mine no more. I sold her to a moisture farmer named Lars.” – Watto, in non-CG form as Andy Secombe, tells this to Anakin, Hayden Christensen, in Attack of the Clones (2002). Shmi Skywalker completes the plating on C-3PO and marries Cliegg Lars.
25 BBY – Obi-Wan falls into a gundark pit and is rescued by Anakin while trying to transport a disc containing information about an invasion in the Uziel system. “I haven’t felt you this tense since when we fell into that nest of gundarks.” – Obi-Wan Kenobi tells this to his young apprentice, Anakin in AoTC. This in the young readers novel, Jedi Quest #7 The Moment of Truth by Jude Watson.
24 BBY – Amidala’s second four-year term ends as Queen Jamilla is elected as Queen and Padme becomes a Senator at her request. “Truthfully, I was relieved when my two terms were up – but when the Queen asked me to serve as Senator, I couldn’t refuse her.” – Padme Naberrie, played by Natalie Portman, to Anakin in AoTC. Jar Jar Binks is elected to the Galactic Representative Commission. The Galactic Senate hits all time low with their newest member. Count Dooku begins to speak out against the Republic at Raxus Prime and forms the group known as the Separatists.
23 BBY – The Kaleesh warlord, Grevious, is injured in a shuttle crash. He is taken to Geonosis and San Hill supervises his reconstruction as a cyborg. This is in the “The Eyes of the Revolution” story in the Star Wars: Visionaries graphic novel by Warren J. Fu. One month before the Battle of Geonosis, Shmi is captured by Tusken Raiders. “Thirty of us went out after her…I couldn’t ride anymore… This isn’t the way…been gone a month.” – Cliegg Lars, played by Jack Thompson, relates this story to Anakin in Episode 2.
We have the events that are in Episode II: Attack of the Cylons, um, the Clones.
One month into the war, Palpatine gives Jedi Knights the rank of general and their Padawans are made commanders. Grevious is trained by Dooku and is made Supreme Commander of the Droid Armies. Boba Fett finds refuge with Jabba the Hutt on Tatooine and begins employment for him as a bounty hunter. This in the young readers novel Boba Fett: Hunted by Elizabeth Hand. Four months after the Battle of Geonosis, the Battle of Muunilinst occurs at the homeworld of San Hill, the chairman of the Intergalactic Banking Clan. During the battle, Anakin Skywalker is led to the jungle planet of Yavin IV by dark side disciple Asajj Ventress and she eliminates his company of clone troopers. Anakin engages in a lightsaber duel with Ventress, but he manages to force her off the edge of a pyramid. This in the Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003 – 2005) cartoon directed by Genndy Tartakovsky . Grevious on Hypori confronts Jedi led by Ki-Adi Mundi, but they are saved by clone trooper reinforcements. This in Chapter 20 of the Sar Wars: Clone Wars cartoon.
22 BBY – Tensions between spice miners rise when the Naboo Moon Mining Union is disregarded in favor of a ship of refugees. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker complete negotiations between city dwellers and the nomadic tribes of Ansion. This is in the novel by Alan Dean Foster, The Approaching Storm. “He has just returned from a border dispute on Ansion to prevent it from seceding.” – Samuel L. Jackson as Mace Windu replies to Chancellor Palpatine played by Ian McDiarmid in AoTRC.
21 BBY – Yoda negotiates to keep Kashyyyk within the Republic. “Good relations with the Wookies, I have.” – Yoda, voiced always by Frank Oz, says this in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005).
20 BBY – Former Chancellor Valorum visits Senator Bail Organa and hands over information he has collected concerning Palpatine. Later, he dies in a supposed terrorist attack. C-3PO is given gold plating. Anakin is sent to Praesitlyn to free the Intergalactic Communication Center from Separatist forces and is made a Jedi Knight. The events in Praestilyn are in the novel Jedi Trial by authors David Sherman and Dan Cragg. Anakin receives R2-D2 as a gift from Padme. This happens in Chapter 21 of the Star Wars: Clone Wars cartoon. Obi-Wan Kenobi is made a Jedi Master and placed on the Jedi Council. Anakin confronts Asaaj Ventress on Coruscant and is scarred by her before he finally defeats Ventress. This was in Star Wars #71, “Dreadnoughts of Rendili part three” by John Ostrander and Jan Duursema.
19 BBY – Boba Fett begins to modify and repaint his father’s armor. This is in the young reader’s novel, Boba Fett: Pursuit by Elizabeth Hand. Republic captain Jan Dodonna commands three Venator-class Star Destroyers to strike at Cato Neimoidia. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker lead the clone army to hunt Viceroy Gunray. “That business on Cato Neimoidia doesn’t count” – Obi-Wan Kenobi tells this to Anakin in AotC. They are later sent by the Jedi Council to Thythe to capture Dooku, but are only delayed as General Grevious begins the invasion of Coruscant. This is in the novel Labyrinth of Evil by James Luceno.
Now we have the events of Episode III: Revenge of the Jedi, wait, Sith. Okay, we are going to skip events to get to the next trilogy in part 3.
