Set Phasers to ‘stunned’! This is a shocking revelation. Blamed on low ratings, and choices that divided the fandom, the fate of the show has been decided. And unfortunately, since the second, and final season, has already been filmed, Fans who enjoy the show will be left without a proper end to the story.
CBS Studios and Paramount+ released a joint statement about the cancellation of STARFLEET ACADEMY… It reads:
“We’re incredibly proud of the ambition, passion, and creativity that went into bringing ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ to life. The series introduced audiences to a bold new group of characters, welcomed familiar faces, and expanded the ‘Star Trek’ universe in exciting new ways . . . We look forward to sharing the upcoming second and final season with everyone, and continuing to celebrate the cast, crew, and all that was accomplished with this series.”
So barring any other galactically bad news, we will at least have that last season to enjoy when it airs on a date not yet determined … And we also have season four AND season five of STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS set to play out this year and in 2027. (those new seasons have also already been filmed) So Star Trek is still in our future.
