Jurassic Park with transforming robots? Yup. News is breaking about Transformers 4 set for release in June 27, 2014. Dinobots, they are led by the Tyrannosaurus Rex bot, Grimlock. The other Dinos include Triceratops with a Temper Slag, Brontosaur-like Sludge, Snarl the Stegosaurus Dinobot, and Pterandon bot, Swoop. Transformers 4 producer, Lorenzo di Bonaventura was asked by Latino-Review about the appearances of the Dinobots in the new film: “There [are] always a lot of rumors. We don’t talk about the movie. We want audiences to see it for the first time and not know that much about it.”
Producer Don Murphy noted on his site the direction of the series past Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011): “What happens next? Certainly not a reboot. We haven’t lost the Transformers. They didn’t grow up or become expensive like Toby Maguire. I don’t know what happens next. I’m pretty sure there will be a second trilogy. I am pretty sure it will kick ass. And I am pretty sure some of you will hate it because it wasn’t all bots.” Galvatron is said to replace the Megatron. He was the remodeled version of Megatron introduced in the animated Transformers the Movie (1986).
Director Michael Bay gave a tease about the film to Comingsoon.net, “Chase from Hell.” The film is also set to star Mark Wahlberg from Bay’s Pain & Gain film. Bay spoke about Wahlberg to Hollywood Reporter, “An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy.” CinemaBlend reports that the film will center “Whalberg’s character, his teen daughter and her race car-driving boyfriend.” This may be roles played by Nicola Peltz and Jack Raynor. Also in the cast are Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing, Kelsey Grammer, and Stanley Tucci.
