Steven Spielberg is in talks with Warner Bros. Studio to direct the Bible film “Gods and Kings.” The epic would cover the life of Moses from his birth to death.

Based on the Book of Exodus, screenwriters Michael Green and Stuart Hazeldine penned the script, which covers a great number of episodes – the freeing of the Hebrew slaves, the plagues in Egypt, receiving the Ten Commandments, and concluding with the Hebrews wandering the desert for 40 years.

The film would surely rival Cecil B. Demille’s 1956’s classic “Ten Commandments” starring Charlton Heston. With Spielberg behind the camera, the budget and effects will be more than impressive.

“Gods and Kings” is scheduled for a 2014 release. Currently, Spielberg has many other projects in play, and it is unknown when he would begin production if the deal goes through.
