Two days ago, Paramount released the first official trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog, the movie based on the popular video game from SEGA. Unfortunately, the trailer was met with a ton of backlash for various reasons, but the major one being Sonic’s design. Here he looks less like a cartoon hedgehog like in the video games and more like a blue human/hedgehog hybrid. Today, the film’s director Jeff Fowler took to Twitter to announce that they would be redesigning Sonic.
Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren't happy with the design & you want changes. It's going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast 🔧✌️

The film is set to release on November 8, but does this redesign mean the film would be delayed? We will have to find out later in the coming months. For now, you can check out the trailer for the film down below.
