Recently, Sega has revealed new updates for the upcoming Shenmue I & II per YouTube creator Adam Koralik.
First off, Shenmue I & II will be based on the Xbox Version of the game, but this is completely optional. You can now play the game based on your preference. Shenmue I & II gives you the option to turn it off and play the game more like the Dreamcast version.
Also, in the Shenmue I & II re-release, load times have now been cut down to around 1-2 second between areas. This is a vast improvement over the sluggish load times found on the Dreamcast version.
Unfortunately, no corporate tie-on will happen in this re-release. Originally, the game had various companies involved like Timex and the generic Jet-Cola in the NA and EU versions of the game. There were also Coca-Cola vending machines in the JP version of Shenmue. As of now these deals with those companies are no longer applied.
Shenmue I & II is set for a digital and a physical release on August 21, 2018 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
