During the C2E2 panel, NetherRealm Studios gave us a few more teasers for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11. During the short teaser we are shown a possible new game mode called The Krypt where an unknown character opens the large doors of a temple to be greeted by Shang Tsung who is played and modeled after the 1995 Mortal Kombat film character by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa.
After the trailer, the panel at C2E2 announced that Shang Tsung will be the first DLC character.
Ed Boon elaborated a bit more:
This has been in a Mortal Kombat since Deadly alliance we’ve had a feature called the Krypt where people can go in and unlock things. Each version that we’ve done has become more elaborate than the last and for this one we decided to get Cary Tagawa to be your guide, your host of The Krypt.
Mortal Kombat 11 is coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch on April 23rd.
