NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” and host Martin Freeman (Bilbo Baggins in the upcoming “The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies”) mashed up the denizens of Middle Earth with the highly popular show “The Office” to come up with the spoof “The Office: Middle Earth.” Characters from J.R.R. Tolkien’s famous novels compete, make fun of and play pranks on one another while trying to work in an office setting selling reams of paper. Gollum takes the brunt of most of the jokes, while a surly Gandalf (SNL regular Bobby Moynihan) runs amok without care to who he offends much like Steve Carrell’s quirky character at Dunder Mifflin, Inc. It is of important note that Freeman played the character Tim Canterbury on the British version of “The Office” from 2001-2003. Check it out and have an amusing time!
