On October 15th, 2011 Nuke the Fridge reported this exclusive story. Now every fan site and news outlet is crowing about actor Sam Witwer (“Being Human”) lending his voice to the Darth Maul character in the “Star Wars: Clone Wars” animated series. Readers scoffed and doubted the reliability of Nuke the Fridge’s reporting skills. Doubt no more! Are we here to strut our stuff and say, “We told you so!?” The answer is “Yes!” Everyone else is four months behind the times. Maybe you should go to this site first from now on!
As for Darth Maul this will mark the Sith Apprentice’s enigmatic return to the Star Wars universe after his apparent demise at the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi in “Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.” As you may remember, or maybe you don’t want to, Maul was sliced in half with a lightsaber, and then fell into a generator shaft on the planet Naboo. With Maul’s return, the storyline will explore his background and show a side of Maul never before seen. Finally, with his separation from his lower half, Maul will be utilizing a unique and agile chassis to get around.
As for Witwer, he is an experienced actor who has appeared in such television shows as C.S.I., Dexter, Being Human, Dark Angel, JAG, Battlestar Galactica, and Smallville. He is no stranger to the Star Wars Universe either. Witwer has done extensive voice work on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 1 & 2, and the Ultimate Sith Edition video games, and he has also voiced the part of ‘The Son’ on “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” animated series.
