For a few years now, we’ve heard rumors about a possible fourth Rush Hour movie in the works, reuniting Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan to once again recreate that on screen magic only the pair could have working off of each other.
Well rather than a new movie, CBS has confirmed that a Rush Hour television series is happening in late March. The series will be a complete reboot of the franchise, with the first look trailer retelling the events of the first movie with two new actors filling the role of Detective Inspector Lee and Detective James Carter.
The series is being produced by Brett Ratner (who directed all three Rush Hour films), and Arthur Sarkissian. Bill Lawrence (Scrubs) and Black McCormick (Cougar Town) will serve as co-writers for the series.
The most important part of the series will be on screen chemistry John Foo (Tekken live action movie) and Justin Hires, who have a tough job of having to fill such big shoes in this show, and in the trailer don’t really leave that impression.
