Finding a Sega Saturn controller nowadays isn’t common and if you do, you can expect to spend around $25 or more on one. Luckily, that’s about to chance thanks to Retro-Bit who will be releasing a line of official controllers and accessories for not just the Sega Saturn but also the Sega Dreamcast and the Sega Genesis. Which were shown at CES 2018.
The Sega Saturn controllers will come in a variety of colors, including those that were exclusive only to Japan. That’s not the impressive part though, Retro-Bit will be releasing their entire line of Sega controllers wirelessly via Bluetooth meaning you won’t have to worry about wires again.
Another thing to note the packaging. I’m pretty excited to see that Retro-Bit is replicating that official Sega box packaging for each individual system, this means each item you buy for the Genesis, Saturn or Dreamcast will look exactly like they did when they released so the Sega Genesis has that iconic red box with the Genesis name running down the side.
All of the gamepads will be compatible with PC, Mac, Android and of course their original systems. No price or release date has been officially announced yet, but it’s expected for the full line to release later this year. On another note, there are rumors that this deal with Sega may also see Retro-Bit release a Dreamcast or Saturn system….heck even a emulation system that runs either of the discs would be awesome.
