Redout Receives a Release Date In May Looking to Scratch That F-Zero Itch

Through a press email, publisher Nicalis, Inc. finally announced that Redout will come to the Nintendo Switch on May 14. This particular racing game from developer 34BigThings previously released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

This digital release on Switch will be known as the”Lightspeed Edition,” and it will contain all of the previously-released DLC, a free bonus at a $40 value. For those who missed out on the game in the first place, Redout takes place in the year 2560 and finds its inspiration from games like F-Zero and Wipeout. The premise of the game has the most barren wastelands of Earth transformed into the home for “the galaxy’s most popular sport.”

Redout features “11 event types and over 200 different total events,” with both a single-player career mode and a multiplayer race mode that supports up to six players. Naturally, as a racing game, expect full leaderboard support as well. Expect 60 courses set in 12 futuristic locations, representing a variety of environments and locales, such as desert plains, frozen tundras, and sunny coastlines.

Redout: Lightspeed Edition is scheduled to be released May 14 on Nintendo Switch. It is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
