All the eager fans who were looking forward to playing Rockstar Games’ highly-anticipated sequel will unfortunately have to wait a little while longer. It was announced via Rockstar’s website that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be pushed from its original Spring 2018 window to October 26, 2018. The development team had this to say:
We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.
We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.
What we know so far is that the game’s story serves as a prequel, centered around Dutch’s gang. There will also be an online component in the form of Red Dead Online, which is far from surprising considering Rockstar’s Success with GTA Online. Let us hope that this is the final delay for what many believe is the most anticipated game of 2018.
